The World’s A Roller Coaster

…..and I am not strapped in.
Maybe I should hold with care, but my hands are busy in the air.

It was an appropriate morning for some Incubus.  Love Brandon Boyd.  Love his lyrics.  Plus he’s hot.  🙂

It’s a bit of an ennui kind of week for several reasons but regardless I am pushing through.

I enjoyed my rest day and ended up with an impromptu Happy Hour with one of my best friends (holla Jacks!).  We bounced from a few places because believe it or not, Manayunk is not as plentiful wit HH specials as we thought.  We ended up at Bourbon Blue and enjoyed some much needed catch up time.  Nothing too crazy.  Two beers and a bit of HH (not so good for me) food.  Beer #1 – Sofie and Beer #2 – Abita Purple Haze.  Both were delicious!

For those curious what Manayunk is – a brief description: Manayunk is a neighborhood in the northwestern section of the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in the United States. Located on the banks of the Schuylkill River, it contains the first canal begun in the United States (although not the first completed due to budget problems).[1] The area’s name comes from the language of the Lenape Indians (later called the Delaware Indians by Europeans). In 1686-dated papers between William Penn and the Lenape, the Lenape referred to the Schuylkill River as “Manaiung”, their word for “river”, which literally translates as “place to drink”; the word was later altered and adopted as the town’s name. (From wikipedia)

It’s best known for the famous bike race that happens here every June.

Today’s plans include subbing at the local Middle School followed by an attempt at a Long Run (we’ll see how my hip feels) and then I actually have plans this evening…..:)  Of which I am quite excited about.  It’s nice to get excited about things again (read: dates)!

Anyway – the subject title could not describe my life more this week.  Anyone else?
